Made by KISS fans, for KISS fans!
Introducing our officially licensed KISS KANDLES!
After the success of Kiss’ Alive! album (which spent over 100 weeks on the Billboard charts), Destroyer was the album KISS were hoping would take them to the next level. Today it is hailed as a favorite by both fans and critics alike. While we played with the idea of a motor oil scented candle (playing off of the song “Detroit Rock City”), we ultimately decided to focus in on “God of Thunder”. Aiming to capture the essence of approaching darkness, a brooding storm, a KISS – God of Thunder, we think we achieved an interesting scent that plays off the lyrics of God of Thunder quite well! A little bit musk, a bit sage, very masculine, and completed with Destroyer purple.
Album cover trivia (taken from Wikipedia): The cover art for Destroyer was painted by fantasy artist Ken Kelly. Kelly’s original version of the album cover was rejected by the record company because they felt the scene was too violent looking with the rubble and flames. Also, the original version had the members of Kiss wearing the Alive! costumes. Shining Sol note: See the “Resurrected” 35th anniversary release of Destroyer to see the original cover artwork.
